Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT)-2013

B.Sc (Hospitality and Hotel Administration), B.Sc (Tourism Management) Admission-2013

The UIHMT offers programmes in B.Sc (Hospitality and Hotel Administration), B.Sc (Tourism Management)

Seats: B.Sc (Hospitality and Hotel Administration) 60; B.Sc (Tourism Management) 30

The admission to both the courses will be on the basis of the merit of Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) to be conducted by Panjab University

Eligibility Criteria: The Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) shall be open to all such candidates who have passed (up to the academic session 2012-2013) in the 10+2 examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent examination conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate and English as one of the compulsory subjects

The eligibility of a candidate will be provisional at every stage of the admission process

PUTHAT: The paper for PUTHAT will consist of 100 questions of one mark each

Total time allocated to the paper will be 90 minutes

The medium of examination shall be English only

There shall be negative marking

The distribution of marks for the respective components of testing would be as; English Aptitude 30; Current Affairs and General Awareness 20; Reasoning Ability 20; Hospitality Industry Awareness 30

The merit list of candidates appearing for PUTHAT shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the PUTHAT only

The result of the PUTHAT-2013 will be made available on the university website www.results.puchd.ac.in as well as in the enquiry office of the university

PUTHAT Fee: General category Rs 800/-; SC/ST category Rs 400/-

Important Dates

Date of availability of prospectus and application form on the website www.uihmt.puchd.ac.in: 13th March, 2013, Wednesday

Last date for submission of information on the website to generate the bank challan: 25th April, 2013, Thursday

Last date for deposit of fee in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) using website generated challan: 29th April, 2013, Monday, 04.00 p.m.

Last date for submission of fee details (journal number, branch code, and date of deposit given by the bank) and uploading of photograph, signature with the remaining information on the website: 02nd May, 2013, Thursday

Last date up to which corrections will be entertained/made regarding photograph, signature and any other information: 04th May, 2013, Saturday, 05.00 p.m.

Final date by which Roll Numbers will be available online: 09th May, 2013, Thursday

Date of entrance test: 19th May, 2013, Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.

Date of the declaration of result: 29th May, 2013 to 31st May, 2013, Wednesday to Friday

Dates of first counselling: 20th June, 2013, Thursday

Second counselling: 27th June, 2013, Thursday

Centre for the entrance test: Chandigarh
