The Forest Research Institute (Deemed University) is going to conduct its Ph.D entrance test on 07th July, 2013 for enrolment in Ph.D programme in Forestry

The candidates, who are interested for registration as research scholar for the Ph.D degree in Forestry in Forest Research Institute (Deemed University) Dehradun and its Research Centres for the term of September, 2013/March 2014 are advised to apply

Entrance Test: The question paper will have following sections and their proportional weightage may be as follows

Section-A; General Awareness 25 questions; General English 25 questions; Research Aptitude 30 questions (the questions will be based on reasoning and statistics)

Section-B; Basic and Applied Sciences 120 questions (attempt any two sections)

There will be 60 questions in each section of Section-B

The questions will be based on Forestry, Agriculture, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Wood Science and Technology, Mathematics

The syllabus is available on the website http://fri.icfre.gov.in

The minimum qualifying marks in entrance examination is 50% for General/OBC candidates and 45% for the SC/ST candidates

The candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR (JRF) Examination/GATE/NET will be allowed to appear for the interview directly without appearing in the written entrance test

However such candidates will have to apply as per the procedure alongwith other candidates

They will have to give a proof of having qualified above exams along with their application form

The UGC/CSIR/GATE/NET exam should have been cleared by the applicant during previous two years from the last date of submission of the form in the university

The candidates qualifying the entrance test will be called for interview which will be conducted Discipline- wise by the Member Secretary RACs/Nodal Officers of Research centres

The list of candidates qualified in the interview will be sent to the Registrar, FRI Deemed University, who will compile the list of qualified candidates and will obtain the approval of the Director before finally declaring the result

The list of successful candidates prepared by Registrar FRI Deemed University and shall be sent to all the research centres and will be displayed on the website

Application Form: Apply in prescribed form latest by 10th May, 2013 with a fee of Rs 1000/- through Bank draft in favour of Registrar, FRI Deemed University, Dehradun

No application form will be entertained after the prescribed date

The last date for submission of application at Research Centre is 30th April, 2013 so that the same may be reached in the FRI Deemed University by 10th May, 2013
