Three Year Diploma in Dramatic Arts Admission 2013-16

The National School of Drama, an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India invites applications for admission to its three year diploma course (full time residential) in Dramatic Arts

The course starts from mid July, 2013 and aims at training students to become professionals in the area of acting, design and other theatre related disciplines

Eligibility: Graduation in any subject from a recognized university in India and abroad

Participation in at least 6 theatre productions

Working knowledge of Hindi and English

Age Limit: Minimum 20 years maximum 30 years (as on 01st July, 2013)

The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates only

Reservation: Out of 26 seats, 4 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the SC, 1 seat for ST, 5 seats for OBC (non creamy layer)

Selection: An expert committee constituted by the School will assess the aptitude and talent of the candidates and its decision will be final

Medium: Hindi/English

Preliminary Test: A preliminary test/audition will be conducted at five centres, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Guwahati

The candidates qualifying in this test will have to attend a workshop of 4 or 5 days in the NSD premises for final selection

Scholarship: All selected students will be given scholarship of Rs 6000/- p.m. to meet their academic and other expenses

Physical Fitness: The students selected for admission will have to undergo a medical test for physical fitness at NSD, New Delhi

Their final selection is subject to clearance of the fitness test

Application Form: To receive the application form and prospectus (English/Hindi) by post, write to the Academic Section, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwandas Road, New Delhi-110001 along with a crossed demand draft/pay order, payable at Delhi of Rs 225/- (Rs two hundred twenty five only) including postal charges in favour of the Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi

Request for receiving the application form by post should reach the School by 30th March, 2013

The application form and prospectus will also be available from the Book Shop of the National School of Drama from 20th March, 2013 to 20th April, 2013 on cash payment of Rs 150/- between 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. and 02.00 p.m. to 05.00 p.m. on working days

The application form can also be downloaded from the School website www.nsd.gov.in from 20th March, 2013

The downloaded application form must be sent along with a demand draft of Rs 150/- in favour of the Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi in an envelope titled Applications for Admission 2013-16

Application forms duly filled in and complete in all respects must reach the Academic Section, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwandas Road, New Delhi-110001 on or before 20th April, 2013
