Admission Notice-2013

M.Tech Programme 2013-2014

Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (functioned at Kashmere Gate till June, 1998) shifted to its, fully residential campus at Dwarka, New Delhi in July 1998

It was established in 1983 by Delhi Administration with the approval of the Govt of India to meet the growing demand of manpower in high-tech areas of Engineering and Technology

The Institute has become autonomous since 1987

With in the span of 29 years since its inception in 1983, NSIT has craved a name for itself and it is now an established Institute with well equipped modern laboratories, well laid down Profile of Growth and a strong commitment for achieving excellence in technical education and research with the ultimate goal of achieving University status in near future invites applications for M.Tech programme

M.Tech Programme (Full Time/Part Time)

M.Tech (Signal Processing under the Division of Electronics and Communication Engineering) (23 seats)

M.Tech (Information System under the Division of Computer Engineering) (23 seats)

M.Tech (Process Control under the Division of Instrumentation and Control Engineering) (23 seats)

Eligibility

Full Time M.Tech Programme with scholarship (Four Semester Programme of two year duration)
Candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication/Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation and Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/Institutions; or

Candidate must have passed in the AMIE (India) Exam with appropriate specialization/Grad IETE (India) AMIE (London) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi

Candidate for admission to full time course must have qualified GATE Score

Full time Sponsored M.Tech Programme without scholarship (Four semester programme of two year duration)

Candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication/ Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation and Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/ Institutions; or

Candidate must have passed in the AMIE (India) Exam with appropriate specialization/Grad IETE (India) AMIE (London) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi

The preference shall be given to those candidates who are GATE qualified

The candidates must have minimum one year's full time work experience in a registered firm/ company/ Industry/ Educational and Research Institutes/ any Govt Department; or

Government Autonomous organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought
One year experience will be counted from the date of declaration of B.E. result

The candidates will be required to submit a No Objection Certificate from their employers

A letter from the employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored to get admission

The employer should also indicate that the candidate will not be withdrawn midway till the completion of the course

Sponsored candidate will not be eligible to receive scholarship even if they are admitted on the basis of GATE score

Part Time M.Tech Programme (Six Semester Programme of three year duration)
Candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication/Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation and Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/ Institutions; or

Candidate must have passed in the AMIE (India) Exam with appropriate specialization/Grad IETE (India) AMIE (London) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi

The candidates must have minimum one year's full time work experience in a registered firm/ company/ Industry/ Educational and Research Institutes/ any Govt Department; or

Government Autonomous organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought

No scholarship shall be available for part time M.Tech programme students

Age Requirement: Candidate should be atleast 21 years of age before the first day of October, 2013
However, the Vice-Chancellor on the basis of individual merit may relax the age up to a maximum period of one year

Admission Procedure: All candidates for admission to M.Tech Programme must submit their applications to the Institute in the prescribed form as per the guidelines notified by the Institute
Full-Time sponsored and Part-Time candidates shall also be required to present themselves for a written test and interview before a selection committee

The final selection of the candidates shall be made by the selection committee on the basis of their performance at the qualifying examination test and interview

Appearing in interview/ Viva- Voce is compulsory for full time candidates

Appearing in written test and interview/Viva- Voce is compulsory for full time sponsored/ part time candidates

Candidates securing less than 50% marks in the above procedure will not be admitted

All admission will be made in the order of merit

After approval of the recommendations of the selection committee, the selected candidates will be offered admission to the programme

They will be required to join the concerned department

There will not be any direct admission to any level above first semester

Reservation: Reservation of seats will be as per rules

Scholarship: GATE qualified candidates selected for full-time M.Tech course will be entitled for AICTE scholarship which will be distributed only after the receipt of grant from AICTE

Fee Structure

Fee for India Students: Candidates selected will be required to deposit the annual fee and other charges immediately at the time of registration for which he/ she will be intimated before the date of registration well before the time

The amount of fee payable by him/her is Rs 32,500/- (Rs thirty two thousand four hundred seventy only) (likely to be revised)

Fee for Foreign Students: Candidates selected will be required to deposit the annual fee and other charges immediately at the time of registration for which he/ she will be intimated before the date of registration well before the time

The amount of fee payable by him/her is US$2500 + Rs 4800/- (at the time of admission)
US$400 Registration fee and US $100 Special fee per year (likely to be revised)

The fee is to be paid by demand draft drawn in favor of Director, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi, payable at Delhi

No part payment will be accepted

No other mode of payment is accepted

All deposits are payable in full on admission and the refundable security are refunded only when the students leaves the Institute after deducting all the dues as determined by the Institute

Security deposit will be forfeited by the Institute, if it is not claimed within three years of the candidate's ceasing to be on the rolls of the Institute and shall be deposited to Govt Account

Placement: Campus Recruitment programme conducted by the Institute is a very vital activity (for only Full-Time M.Tech candidates)

Sponsored (Full Time and Part-Time) candidates will not be allowed for campus placement

A close interaction between the Institute and various company executives has created excellent placement record

By sheer dint of hard work and dedication, the students of the Institute have created their enviable position in the industries

The complete application form along with attested photocopiers of certificates/testimonials and a demand draft/ pay order of Rs 1000/- (Rs one thousand only) in favor of Director, NSIT, New Delhi-110078 payable at Andhra Bank, NSIT Branch, New Delhi should reach to office of the Deputy Registrar (Academic/PG) latest by 06th May, 2013
