PGET – 2015 Admission to Post Graduate Degree / Diploma Dental Courses for the year 2015-16

Admission to Post Graduate Degree/Diploma Courses in Medical /Dental subjects in Govt. Medical and Dental colleges, Government Quota seats in Private and Minority Medical and Dental College and Govt. Quota seats in Deemed Universities located in the State of Karnataka for the academic year 2015-16

As per the directions of the Hon'ble High Court in WP No.13366-13457/2015, Govt in its order No. AuKuKa 160 RGU 2015, Bangalore dated 28-04-2015, has directed the Karnataka Examinations Authority to conduct the Post Graduate Entrance Test for admission to Post Graduate Degree / Diploma Dental courses to the seats which will be notifi ed by the Government which may remain unfilled after completion of the second round of seat allotment to the candidates who have secured required eligibility in the All India Entrance Test conducted by the AIIMS for PG Dental Courses for the year 2015-16

Further, as per the decisions of the PG Entrance Test Committee meeting held on 10th April 2015, preference will be given to candidates who have secured required eligibility in the All India Entrance Test conducted by the AIIMS for PG Dental Courses before allotting to the seats to the candidates who may become eligible in this entrance test

The interested eligible candidates can appear for the Post Graduate Entrance Test as per the following schedule. The Entrance Test will be conducted only in Bangalore

Qualifying Criteria for KEA PGET-2015:

The eligibility of candidates for admission shall be regulated by Karnataka Conduct of Entrance Test for Selection and Admission to Post Graduate Medical and Dental Degree and Diploma Courses Rules 2006 as amended from time to time and in November 2013, December 2013 and January 2014

The KEA is entrusted with document verification for determining the eligibility of the candidates as per the Rules and the allocation of seats as per the Online Seat Allotment and Admission Procedure

The PGET 2015 merit list for Medical & Dental published by National Board of Examination (NBE), New Delhi & AIIMS respectively will be taken into consideration for preparation of rank list after verification of original documents and allotment of seats to all eligible Non-in-Service candidates and In-Service candidates for the Karnataka State Quota PG Medical & Dental seats

Candidates who obtain a minimum score in the PG Entrance Test conducted by National Board of Examinations, New Delhi as per category below shall be declared as "Qualified" in PGET-2015

i) >=50% in PGET for "General Merit" candidates

ii) >=40% in PGET for "Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe & OBC" candidates (Karnataka)

iii) >= 45% in PGET for Persons with Disability candidates with locomotor Disability of lower limbs between 40% to 70% (for Medical)

iv) Marks Secured in PGET (1st Order) - Descending

v) In case two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the competitive entrance examination, their inter se merit will be determined according to age, older will get preference over younger

vi) If candidates have secured same marks in PGET then Total No. of Attempts taken in UG (3rd Order) - Ascending

vii) If candidates have secured same marks in PGET & same Total No. of attempts taken in UG then % of total marks secured in UG (4th Order) - Descending

viii) If candidates have secured same marks in PGET, same Total No. of attempts taken in UG & same % of total marks in UG then % of final year marks secured in UG (5th Order)

The Karnataka Examination Authority or the PGET Committee may from time to time specify for submission such other additional documents and issue directions as deemed essential for all Candidates for maintaining absolute transparency and integrity in the Document Verification Process, Determination of Eligibility and Seat Allotment and Admission-through a notification on the website of KEA

All candidates are directed to visit the website of KEA at least twice every day for updates

Eligibility for KEA PGET-2015

A candidate who fulfills the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for the online seat allotment process, namely:

a) He/she is a citizen of India

b) He/she has studied and passed in the courses leading to the award of MBBS/BDS Degrees in colleges recognized by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India, Govt of India and affiliated to any University established by law in India and located in Karnataka State; or

c) Candidate must be of Karnataka origin who has studied MBBS/BDS degrees in colleges outside Karnataka recognized by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India and Govt of India and affiliated to any University established by law in India

d) He/she has completed or is completing 'Compulsory Rotating Internship' on or before 30th April 2015

e) A candidate, who is already holding a Post-Graduate degree in any specialty, shall not be eligible to appear for the online seat allotment counseling process for admission to any post Graduate Medical or Dental degree or Diploma Course

f) Candidates must be less than 45 years of age as on 31st March 2015

Application Procedure for KEA PGET-2015

Candidates have to be personally present for the document verification with all the required original documents and strictly adhere to the time schedule allotted as per their Serial Number of NBE Merit list
Schedule for Option Entry process will be published shortly on the KEA website

Candidates have to visit KEA Website http://kea.kar.nic.in and download the registration form for admission to Post Graduate Degree/Diploma Courses 2015-16

Fill all the details in the registration form, and obtain demand draft drawn in favour of Executive Director, KEA, payable at Bangalore for Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST and Cat-I of Karnataka) in any nationalized banks

Filled registration form and demand draft should be compulsorily submitted along with the other documents at the time of verification

Important

The syllabus for Post Graduate Dental Entrance Exam for admission to MDS courses shall be that of BDS standard and shall cover all the subjects /syllabus taught during the BDS course as prescribed in the DCI Revised BDS Course Regulations, 2007 as amended from time to time

There will be only one paper of 3 hours duration (10.30 am to 01.30 pm) containing 200 MCQs consisting of Basic Sciences, Para-Clinical and Clinical subjects

Note

1) Admission to Post Graduate Degree/Diploma Dental courses is subject to approval of the DCI/Govt/Concerned Universities/Competent Authority

2) Admissions will be made in accordance with the "Karnataka Conduct of Entrance Test for Selection and Admission to Post Graduate Medical and Dental Degree and Diploma Courses Rules, 2006 (Amendment)"

3) The candidates who had appeared for AIPGDEE-2015 and secured requisite percentage shall not apply

4) The candidates who had appeared for AIPGDEE-2015 and did not have requisite percentage and those could not apply for AIPGDEE-2015 can apply

Commencement of Entry of Application Online: 06-05-2015 (10.00 am onwards)

Last Date of Entry of Application: 11th May 2015 (up to 08.00 pm)

Last date to pay the fees: 12th May 2015 (up to 03.00 pm)

Downloading of Admission Tickets on or after: 15th May 2015 (10.00 am onwards)

Date of Exam (PG Degree/Diploma - Dental): 24th May 2015 (Sunday, 10.30 am to 01.30 pm)

Cost of Application cum Exam and seat allotment fee (Persons with Physical Disability are exempted from fee) Rs.2000/- (Rs.1500/- for SC/ST & CAT-1)
